No, Possessed and Death did not make death metal as it is today, they made it as it first was, which is what my point is. Evolution in music is a natural process.

Gory films like Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Hostel are aired publicly in popular movie theatres. Crowds flock to see the flicks. But a band like Cannibal Corpse that sings about it is outlawed and banned. Such double-standards.
Not only are they death metal, they helped invent the Florida DM scene. Ignorance breeds stupidity, do your homework.
Pretty funny. But seriously, Cannibal Corpse should not be banned from touring. So what if they have violent lyrics? They are not encouraging violence. There have been no cases of fans of Cannibal Corpse going out and killing people in the way described in the lyrics or in any way at all. It is not harmful and is just entertainment.
yea, i never figured out why i like things related to the hallocaust, er gore movies. Even tho shows like ER make me squeemish.
I never said they did invent it….but the practically invented the US side of it along with Morbid Angel and Deicide. Death were credited for creating Death Metal as a genre, but CC were pretty much the band that escalated it and made it more well known.
