It is true that genetics play a big role in metabolism. The trick happens in the lifestyle habits that go along with the genetics. A little bit more movement everyday, say 1/2 mile more walking, (1,000 steps) which is estimated to be about 50 Calories burned. Over a year would be 5 pounds of weight loss. Over 10 years it would be 50 pounds of weight loss. This extra little bit is often not figured into calorie amounts and can seem like genetics.
