Starting with clips from the famous 1897 film of Liverpool by Lumiere cameraman Promio, the film moves from the Docks, to the City centre, then the ferries, sponsored emigration, the Charter festival of 1907, Royal visit, recruitment parades and embarkation to the Front in WW1, the 3rd World Scout Jamboree in Arrowe Park in 1929, summer scenes, and Gerry Jones fading the film out as he sings the 1st verse of In My Liverpool Home.
