I have some Mercury in a glass bottle I found in a sub-station rectifier I had to demolish years ago. I have since bought a schott glass bottle to put it into, nice thick glass ie tougher. I keep it in my garage on a shelf but I do worry sometimes that in summertime when it gets hot that the Mercury can expand and force some vapour out through the interface beetween the glass and the plastic lid. I understand it has a high vapour pressure, will it be ok in the schott bottle?
